Free English Language Services for Adults
Who can take ELSA classes?
- You must be a permanent resident who has not yet completed LINC or ELSA
- You must be 17 years old or older
How much do the classes cost?
The classes are free and funded by the Canadian and British Columbian governments.
What will I learn?
English speaking, listening, writing,reading, and living in Canada.

Classes begin September 8, 2008 and end June, 2009. Classes are closed holidays and Christmas and Spring Breaks.
How do I apply for ELSA?
- Bring your permanent resident or citizen card to Gladwin Language Centre to register.
- After you register, the testing centre will schedule an assessment for you. The test will be at Gladwin Language Centre. You must have this test before you begin classes.
- A letter will come to you telling you when your test appointment is. Tests are in the AM.
- After your test you may have to wait to start a class. Each month new students begin.
